M. Iqbal Djajadi was born in Bogor 12th
October 1961. He graduated from Faculty of Social and Political
Sciences, University of Indonesia in 1988 majoring in sociology. In 1999
he gained his master degree from University of Indonesia. His doctorate
degree was obtained in Radboat University of Nijmegen.
He
is one of the sociology lectures in University of Indonesia. His field
of study as a lecturer are Social Research Method I & II, Urban
Sociology, Sociology of Economic Life, Seminar for Advanced Research
Method, Sociology of Organization, Social Research Method III, Basic
Sociology, Sociology of Industry, Certain Problems of Organization,
Social Movement, and Ethnic Relations.
Besides active as a lecturer, he also has conducted many researches like Project Coordinator & Team Leader: “Socio-Cultural Studies in Oil Palm Plantation in West Borneo, 2000-2001, Research associate: Performance Review in Anti-Corruption Team (TGPTPK), 2001,
and other minor research. Not only that, M. Iqbal Dajajadi also has
published many academic writings. His publications include various
topics in sociological problems. Some of them are “Kerusuhan
& Reformasi” (Riots and Reformation) dalam Kisah Perjuangan

Etnik di Kalimantan Barat 1999-2003 dalam Jurnal Sosiologi Masyarakat" Edisi No.13, 2004.
To gain more knowledge and experience, M. Iqbal Djajadi joints some seminars such as “The Dynamic of Violence: A Study of Relationship Among Ethnic Violence, Ethnic Conflict and Criminality in West Kalimantan.” Presentation Material in Leiden, Monday, October 11, 2004, and “Aku
Orang Dayak: Surut Pasang Etnisitas, Identitas & Politik Identitas”
(I am Dayak People: The fall & Rise of Ethnicity, Identity &
Identity Politic).
